What to Expect during a Running Assessment

Up & Active - Running Assessment

During your 60-minute running assessment at Up & Active, our Physiotherapists will take a detailed and personalised approach to understand your body, your goals, and your running style.

Your session will include:

  • A detailed discussion about your history, current concerns, and running goals
  • Review of your running or training background
  • Analysis of any available data (e.g., Garmin, Strava, or other tracking apps)
  • Muscle strength testing relevant to running performance
  • Assessment of muscle flexibility and joint mobility
  • Biomechanical screening for movement patterns
  • High-quality video analysis of your running on a treadmill
  • Expert review and feedback on your running technique

This comprehensive assessment is designed to give you clear insights and actionable steps to help you run more efficiently, prevent injury, and achieve your goals.

What happens next?

  • We discuss a training plan to suit your goals and ability
  • You may have some running drills or technical changes to work on during your training
  • You will go home with exercises based on your assessment findings
  • We will plan to catch up to review your progress and program

Call the Up & Active reception desk on 4613 1394 and ask for a ‘Running Assessment’ and our team will schedule you with our running assessment physios.
