What is realtime ultrasound?

Using a diagnostic ultrasound, your physiotherapist can watch different layers of muscles contract and relax, and most importantly look at muscle contraction, timing and size. Fatty infiltration may also be seen which can highlight a history of injury and dysfunction. Real Time Ultrasound assists the practitioner demonstrate to the patient how to turn their core transversus abdominus, multifidis and pelvic floor muscles on to ensure the most beneficial outcome is achieved through exercise. 

What Conditions Benefit from Real Time Ultrasound? 

Ultrasound physiotherapy can be used for muscle retraining. The most common conditions which can be assisted by real time ultrasound physiotherapy include:
